With more than 20 years of dental experience, dentist Jean Barthman has the expertise and vision necessary to call her practice one of San Mateo County's finest. Dr. Jean Barthman graduated from Ohio State University, earning a degree in dental hygiene. She worked as a hygienist for five years before attending dental school at Ohio State University. After graduating from Ohio State, Dr. Barthman practiced in Colorado for several years and then moved to San Mateo County to establish her own practice.

  Dental Implants

If you need to have implants placed, Dr. Barthman can discuss with you which type of dental implants is best for your individual case. She can help prepare you for the dental implant procedure, which typically involves three steps: implantation, osseointegration (while the jawbone heals), and placement of restorations. Dr. Barthman may refer you to an esteemed dental surgeon for placement of the implant, after which she will provide the treatment for the restoration of the implant at her office in Redwood City.   TMJ Treatment

  A “TMJ disorder” is a collection of symptoms that occurs when the jaw is improperly aligned. The most common symptoms are an inability to open the mouth comfortably, headaches, a bite that feels misaligned or uncomfortable, and popping, clicking, or grinding sounds when the jaws are opened widely.
